The alternative CCM mathematical group Burlap to Cashmere was lED by the Brooklyn-based vocal/guitar twosome of cousins John Philippides and Steven Delopoulus. Discovered by managing director Jamison Ernest patch acting in a New Jersey coffee bar, the duad shortly assembled Burlap to Cashmere, recruiting guitar player Mike Ernest, bassist Roby Guarnera, keyboardist Josh Zandman, drummer Theodore Pagano and percussionist Scott Barksdale; drafting on a huge orbit of tribe and world music influences, the group before long began appearing at New York venues including the Bottom Line, Irving Plaza and Tramps, besides building a interior fad following on the strength of their wide hitch schedule.
